Very intriguing image. I though of the "Cannonball House" when I saw this open because it looks like a small cannonball embedded in the wall of an old house. I'm guessing it is the eye of an eagle carving as the title suggests? Or was my first impression more accurate?

I loked at the photograph first and thought of bullet holes and rocks, and then I read your title and... bing.... it is so the eye of an eagle in a wooden carving.

I stared at this for ages wondering what it was, I thought of many things including a nail where the head has broken off but thought what could have that do with an eagle, obviously not as clever as Floog and Laurie who I suspect have got it right, wonderful textures and intriguing capture

Now this is very cool. Not only on the basis of abstract but also the organic and inorganic element. AND I can see this as part of a totem... as in the eagle eye of a haida totem. Ya done did real good... got my inner eye moving full steam.
