A Moment in Photographic History:
Ukrainian photographer Yevgeny Khaldei died October 6, 1997. Khaldei is best known for his World War II photograph of a Russian soldier placing the Soviet Union flag atop the Reichstag building in Berlin. Khaldei built his first childhood camera using the lens of his grandmother's glasses.
