A Moment in Photographic History:
Known as The First Combat Photojournalist, Romanian photographer Carol Szathmari died June 3, 1887. He recorded the Crimean War (1853-1856). Of course, combat photography was not like today’s war correspondents with SLRs. Szathmari had a wagon equipped with a dark room for processing the glass plates with the wet collodion processing.

A Photographic Quote of Note:
Photography is not about cameras, gadgets and gismos. Photography is about photographers. A camera didn't make a great picture any more than a typewriter wrote a great novel.
