A Photographic "Did You Know": Ukrainian Photographer Arthur Fellig who worked in New York City had, as one of his first jobs, the task of removing excess water from prints in the darkroom at the New York Times. This gained him the nickname of "Squeegee Boy"...which eventually became "Weegee" (and which he pronounced "Wee-chee"!) - A Photographic Quote of Note: I picked up a camera because it was my choice of weapons against what I hated most about the universe: racism, intolerance, poverty. - - - - - Gordon Parks

Very good shot of the waning ice, and although I love winter I can tell you I'm glad it's going away....

You have really caught great detail in this old ice! I can't make up my mind if there is a colour filter over it making it look dirtier? Thanks for the Trivia and as Amy said, a profound quote! :-)

The intricate details of the edge, here, have me mesmerized. It's probably not nearly as interesting as I'm imagining it to be. The background also has me stumped.

Lovely, photo, Michael. Simply beautiful. I don't want to wear that lacey fringe shawl UNTIL July, then you can send it down to me in that same type of box you sent the snow in, okay?
