The lighting and colors are wonderul - well taken. My only recommendation is to straighten the horizon (which I think I am developing a reputation for nagging people about!).

And I am sorry, Michael. I was definitely a tad puzzled at your comment on my post about 1 March. But today I just came across your best friend’s post on her blog which you told me about sometime ago, and read her mention of Pig Day and your birthday on 1 March. So really, I should be wishing you a very Happy Belated Birthday, man!! :)

Where you live, is it cold enough for the ice to support a car? I see many tracks and worry that somewhere out there, in the middle there is a hole with tracks only going up to, but not on the other side of it. This is a lovely shot.

Do you know the story of the Darwin Awards, honorable mention, where the mighty fishermen threw dynamite out to break a hole in the ice. The faithful retriever ran to retrieve it, running back to his faithful owner. The faithful owner, who did not want to be blown up started shooting at the dog. The still faithful but now confused dog took refuge under the brand new truck. Which blew up and took the dog with it, under the ice. So, does that kind of thing happen there or is it just an American thing?

The truck was not insured against being blown up by a dynamite toting dog so the mighty fisherman had to continue making payments and didn't even have his faithful dog to give him comfort.
