No disrespect but this is the question. How much do we spend on the dead before it becomes to ostentatious? My plan is, since I am not permitted to be composted, is a simple burn job. - A Moment of Photographic History: Julia Margaret Cameron died January 26, 1879. This British photographer was known for her portraits of celebrities of the time.

I want a grave marker. As a genealogy researcher, I love walking through cemeteries reading the markers. That was my 2 cents:-)

@sherri: Okay, I can be cremated and and the ashes spread on a flower garden and the flowers can decorate a grave yard.
I love the sharp detail and interesting composition in your shot, Michael. Grave markers are intersting and allow relatives to remember better. I'm for that.

Very unique, not your typical shot. I understand what you're saying. But the burn isn't for me. You captured the image very well, great DOF and composition.

By coincidence we have a cemetary photo too today! Nice one...

This is a beautiful scene. It would be wonderful if all cemeteries were kept up, but I am in your camp and want to be cremated. Remember me by photography and not by a weathered headstone.

Very nicely captured. I like the soft DOF here

OMG!! You absolutely slay me!!!
... and just for the record... cremation....

For me it's cremation, always has been, ashes scattered in the ocean where I love the be whenever I can! The photographer in me loves cemetary shots, the different headstones and sculptures, so I guess I hope not everyone feels cremation is the way to go ; )

Composted? Michael, you are so funny. Don't burn. Burning scares me.
