11 always seems to be a poor number. Not quite a dozen but to old to be the perfect 10.

A Photographic Note:
First viable digital CCD imager was produced by Boyle & Smith at Bell Labs in 1969 and in 1972 Shigeyuki Ochi produced a ground breaking 8x8 pixels CCD sensor.
