Thong

Now they are flip-flops. What a goddawful name.

In my youth they were called thongs. They were worn, back then, mostly by women. Women of all ages. Women of all shapes.

In these modern times, if an eighty year old woman walked down the street wearing a thong there would be questions about her choice of clothing.

Come to think of it, why should that eighty year old woman be precluded from wearing a thong in these enlightened times?
