The eyes . . . the smile

Just look at that sweet face. A gentle, happy, intelligent girl; she is part of the future of our planet.

It is so difficult to imagine people hating someone just because they have a different social heritage. Different skin colour.

She is a lovely Japanese girl whom I have had the pleasure of knowing.

I recently watched a World War Two documentary which used Japanese film footage and readings from Japanese diaries. 16 year old girls conscripted to serve as nurses were brutally killed. Killed by the enemy and by their own countrymen to save them from falling into the hands of the foreign barbarians.

What a world we have created.
